Gretsch Strings for the 3125b

Anyone recommend a few kinds of strings for this bass?
just got it and i never owned a gretsch so im not sure what some good strings are......

two things:

I have an extra hardshell Gretsch case for that bass that I am not using, so PM if you need one.


I highly recommend flatwounds for that bass. You'll get a massive low thud with a set of Labellas on there. Give it a try, I bet you'll really be surprised.

LaBella is a string manufacturer that has been around for a long time. A lot of people like them for an old school sound. Just make sure you get a set that is long scale for that bass.

I play a little harder than most - ive heard these are finnesse strings from a friend and said it wouldnt be a good choice...
