rounds or flats?

on my jazz i use 45-100 rounds now

if i were going to use flats i'd use a heavier guage though 50-105 maybe

I like 45-105 rounds on all my basses. Except my fretless, it gets flats.

Matito, why do you use heavier gauged flats?

I have found that the farther I get from the 45-110s that come with the instrument, the more quirks I have to deal with; buzzes, clicks, uneven string balance, etc. Even with a good setup.

Fender puts those on there in that size for a reason, I think.

I am in the same position, needing new set on my 01 MIA Jazz .... I have been using the 8250 I think it is with the taperwound E (45-110??), but have been thinking that I might like to try a little lighter E string ... does anyone make a 45-100 set with taperwound E, especially for the STB ?? ... thanks
