Guitar strings on bass.

Any tips for fitting guitar strings onto a 34" scale bass?
I just broke my F string on my Conklin GT7 and the only strings available to me are guitar strings.
I'm trying to fit a .016 G onto where my F should be.
I would just buy another F, but no one around me carries them and I need the bass tomorrow morning.

Any tips?

They'll work if there's enough string to wind around the post. As for the ball end thing, all you have to do is pop a bass string ball end out of an old bass string you have laying around, and then thread the guitar string through it so it'll work in a bass guitar bridge.

it wont be long enough its made for a guitar scale which is 27-28 inches not conklins 34
dude .16 is small for a high F
D'addrio has a single .18 for bass on their website for 3 bucks
