Trying to get that Guns n Roses sound from my Bass.
Anyone suggest best kind of strings or makes for this ?

Steve | Duff used a Fender P and Rotosound Roundwound strings. Other than that, I dont know much else.
I use Rotosounds too, will probably never use anything else. |

thanks for that , i`m just about to change from elixers that were on from new so i will try the rotosounds.
Any prefered makes ?

Also if you really want his sound he used a GK 800rb through a Peavey cabinet. I think The GK and the picking are the biggest influence on his tone. |

Scroll down a little bit for Duff's stuff. This is a Velvet Revolver website, but McKagan and his tech admit that his rig hasn't changed much since the old days. He still uses that Jazz Special and a newer Aerodyne. I'll wholeheartedly endorse the Aerodyne (with p'upgrades). |
