HAlf round & Flat s maintainance

First set of D'addario half rounds.Used to soak my roundwounds in denatured alcohol or sometimes just boil them in H20.How bout the half wounds and flats? Same thing ok for these?Ithink they last longer so it won't be needed as often.

I'm used to folk cleaning their strings to restore brightness, & to that being much more of a factor for Steel Rounds fans than for Flats fans.

I do nothing to my Flats or Grounds.
