Half Rounds

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone ever used D'Addario medium gauge XL half rounds .050-.070-.085-.105? It's about time for a string change and the "dude" at GCenter recommended these strings. I like a big warm fat tone and I'll be playing on my G&L L-2000 Tribute Premium with swamp ash body. Thanks for any info.

Where do you buy SIT's? I haven't seen them at the stores I usually go to. Where is a good place to buy them online?

i've got those exact halfrounds on my fretless jazz right now, actually. i love them, but not for the bigfatwarm sound. i like them because they're brighter than flats (i like a brighter fretless sound), but they won't chew up my fingerboard like rounds.

for a bigwarmfat tone, i'd get some good flats. i've heard good things about tomastik infelds.

Jake, try www.juststrings.com they have every brand and then some. You can even purchase single strings.

I put Half Rounds on my TRB6P, and the result is OK.
I believe they are stainless steel strings, so they have sort of a dead roundwound with zing on top sound.

Not my favorite, but once you break them in, they thump a bit.

I have a set of those on my Lakland DD P right now. I'm not totally sold on it yet. I don't think It has the thump I'm looking for. I will give a pretty good pick sound, just not what I'm looking for.
