Half Rounds?

Just looking into getting a set of them for my Schecter AB-5

I really love the tone Dan Briggs from Between The Buried and Me gets and I read on a different forum that he uses D'Addrio half rounds. There's always been qualities in round wounds that I like but also qualities in flat wounds that I like, so why not give 'em a try? I also hear that they don't give you as much fret buzz as round wounds do. Is that true?
