Half-rounds or ground-rounds for 35" 5-string?

What kind of half-rounds or ground-rounds are there for a 35" 5-string bass? I know D'Addario makes some, but I've read they go dead quickly. Who else makes some?

That would be perfect, but I haven't found that they make a 5-string set.

I stand corrected! They now make them for 5-string!! Now I just need to find out if they'd fit 35" scale. Thanks!

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on them, if you do buy them.

I've decided that I'm keeping the BTB, and I'll just save up for an SX Jazz. It'll be nice to have a Jazz, but I just can't commit to letting the BTB go - it's just plays and sounds too good!

I'm going to order a set of Silencers tonight - I'll let you know how they sound. That should give you an idea of how they'd sound on your 55-02.

Glad to hear man. Let me know how the Silencers work out - I might give them a whirl on my J bass.

I have some Ken Smith Slickround (groundwound) for my 4'er. I love them. I can't imagine why they wouldn't make 5s as well.

If you can't find a set with a low B of something that fits your scale (can't recall if my faves the Smith Compressors or GHS Pressurewounds* would or not), you can always substitute something like an Elixir polyweb low B and you'll get both some smoothness and a decent tonal match.

* Actually I like compressed wound better than ground, for brightness yet smooth feel.

I've got some SIT Silencers coming in the mail. I'll post some soundclips in the soundclip link in my signature when they come in.

I've herad those are pretty nice for a crisp yet full sound, but I was not into the gauges for what I was doing. Hey, good luck with them!
