Half-wounds ina heavy gauge

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey,

I'm looking for some halfwounds in a heavier gauge so I can tune my bass BEAD. .120 would be ideal. I'd like to use D'addario chromes, seeing as that brand has been the best I've used so far. However, I'm open to other ideas.

Seems like you'd just buy a 5 string set and throw away the G string, instead of mucking around looking for heavier gauge 4 string sets (which won't be heavy enough for a good B string anyway).

If you normally use D'addario Half Rounds, just buy a single B string and there you go. But Half Rounds are nickel, not chrome.

I believe the product is called Chromes for their half-wounds (don't know why).

I'm not sure of the B-string in a 130 gauge would fit a Yamaha bridge.

D'addario chromes are flatwound not halfround (if you find any flats with a .120 gauge string let me know!)
