Happy To See R. Cocco Strings Back in the US

I got into using the R Cocco strings back in the mid 90's after not being happy with the quality and sound of DR anymore. Then Mr. Cocco passed away and the strings soon after had sold out from stores.

I went over to Fodera strings and was very satisfied with their strings. From what I understand, Fodera bought all of the string winding machines and even got most of the old workers from the Cocco factory. They make the strings buy hand the same way the Cocco's were but the Foder's are just ever so slightly brighter.

Now the R Cocco strings are back and for sale again in the US. They are made in Italy now by one of the top guys that was with the company before the passing on Mr.Cocco. I got a few sets from Bass North West to try them out and low and behold... they sound exactly like they did in the 90's.

I still use the Fodera strings on some of my darker sounding Basses. I do still love their strings.

If you are a DR or Foders or lover of any other higher end string, you should check out the R. Cocco's
