Sign in to disble this ad
Can anybody reccomend me on what strings I should use for a Hartke A-4 4 string bass, or more generally a Hartke bass period???! All knowledge is welcomed.
Thanks!

You can use anything you want.

For roundswounds I use DR Lo-Riders and for flatwounds I use Rotosound Jazz.

Hartke's don't take a specific string.

To judge from the players you mention in your TB profile, you'll probably be best served by a set of medium-gauge roundwounds. Go for any reputable brand such as DR, D'Addario or La Bella - it doesn't matter too much until you develop preferences on your bass and find out what strings seem to work for your style of playing.

I'd check out something along the likes of D'Addario XL's, GHS Boomers, Ernie Ball Slinkies for moderately priced, readilly available strings. Anything medium gauged about 45-105 should do the trick./
