Has anyone used these D'Addario strings?

I was thinking about buying these for my two basses... they are affordable and I would be able to change the strings on two basses at once I like their electric guitar strings... I was something that'll last long and is somewhat bright. I previously used Rotosound Swing 66 strings.

I bought that exact set a few weeks ago. I've been playing the D'addarios on my P-bass for about three weeks now, and I like them a lot. I liked their new sound a truckload, and although the zing is gone, they sound has changed into a nice warm grunt. Not quite growl, but they have a nice warm, smooth roundwound sound. I played a set of steel RS66s, and although these didn't have nearly as much crunch and growl as the RS, I like the way these sound now that they're worn in a little. I still may switch them out for steel rounds, but that's owing to no fault of theirs; I am just addicted to the new stainless roundwound (Entwistle) sound. I bought that set for the tuner, and promptly broke/lost it, but even so, it was worth it. And I still have a set of replacement strings when I need them.

those aren't bad strings at all. I started getting them for free a while back, so I love them.

I have been using D'addario XL's on my roundwound strung 4-stringers for ten years now. Very good bass strings and that is a good deal on a two pack.

i've been using xl's for a few years and they're awesome...like them a lot...and the price is a steal, even without the tuner, which is really cool...looks like the best deal going...i would buy them myself, but you can't get that deal with 5 string sets

I use XL170's exclusively on two of my basses (the others are permanently strung with LaBella Tape wounds).

170's are 0.45 - 0.65 - 0.80 - 0.100 where
165's are 0.45 - 0.65 - 0.85 - 0.105

I LOVE them...the sound is bright but punchy, and very consistant, and as they age, the sound warms up but they remain quite responsive for a fairly long time...

I've managed to get about 4-6 months life per set, before the sound gets so flat that I need a "pick-me-up"

I'm now jumping into BEAD tuning and will be putting

0.130 - 0.100 - 0.80 - 0.65 on one of my basses...
