have Lo Riders changed at all?

Sign in to disble this ad
I use DR Lo Riders nickel 45-105 gauge, have done now for a couple of years. I don’t change strings very often, about once every five or six months.

I just put a new set on my Jazz today and rehearsed with the band tonight. The strings felt very tight and they were hurting my fingers a lot. Bare in mind we played two gigs over the weekend so my playing hands are pretty much match fit.

The strings felt soooo tight that when I just got in I checked the empty string pack. Still the usual gauge. I don’t ever remember new stings feeling so tight or aggressive on my fingers.

Have Lo Riders changes in any way over the past six months? Do you think the strings will feel more comfortable in a week or so? This has really confused me.

Thanks for any ideas. Bob

Did you get "Nickel Lo-Riders" or "Lo-Riders"

New strings should feel a little tighter.

As far as more aggressive on your fingers, they may just need to be played a little bit. But they should not be as you described them out of the box.
