Heavy Gauge Rounds That Hold Stiffness

Sign in to disble this ad
I like Rotosound RS66LEs, except that they seem to get "floppy" after 2-3 weeks. Tension doesn't seem to change; I don't have to retune. They just don't feel as stiff as new, which is how I like them. Can somebody recommend something similar, that holds its stiffness longer?

Rotosounds are generally considered to be about the stiffest strings out there, so I can't make any suggestions of rounds other than that. If you want to find strings designed for lower tunings however, try a set of Circle K's. They are pretty flexible (not nearly as stiff as Rotos), but you can get some high-tension strings to compensate.

Another option is to go with flats, as they have higher tension than rounds.
