Heavy Gauge Thomastik Jazz Flats?

Sign in to disble this ad
Do TI Jazz flats come in a heavy gauge? I'd like the E string to be at least a 105, preferrably a 110. I have my P-bass strung with Jamerson La Bellas and have become accustomed to the heavy gauge, and I broke a couple strings this weekend. I swapped them on the spot with some spare Fenders, but would like to try something else out with lower tension. All I have found though for TI's is either 95 or 100 on the E string.

The short answer is no, they don't have various gauges for a 34" scale bass.

The long answer is...the 32" scale set has a .106 E and stringing through the bridge the 32" scale has worked for me in the past on a 34" bass. The tension is pretty similar though regardless of the higher gauge. They seemed maybe a tiny bit tighter.
