Heavy guage?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

I currently have a set of dr loriders on both my gigging basses in Heavy guage 50-70-90-110. I was wondering if any other company made the same sizes on all strings in the same pack. Dr strings are way too expensive here in Australia, so it would be cool if somebody could reccomend me an american company to buy off. Thanks heaps

I've used GHS Boomers .115-.095-.070-.050, much cheaper than DR's.

Deathwish maybe ?

Their B110 set (nickel rounds) runs 50 70 88 110

I'm thinking there should be a Rotosound dealer or two in Australia.
There are a couple RS66 sets (stainless rounds) that may work --

RS66LE (50 70 85 110) and RS66LH (65 80 105 130)

Everly has Bass Rockers in your gauges - they are relatively inexpensive here in the 'states.

There are a few companies that have gone to balanced tension sets that might float your boat - they have either a .110 or .115 on bottom, but are lighter on top than you may like. La Bella is one of the first to spring to mind.

thanks guys, just to give you an idea of how expensive strings are in Australia, I bought two packets of dr lo-riders and a pack of daddario acoustic bass strings for $90Aus shipped. If I was to pay the street price on those 3 sets of strings here I would have been set back $190Aus. $65 each for the dr's. and $60 for the dario's. Ridiculous, while the dollar is strong i will be importing all me gear where possible.
