ok, so lately things have been going OK with the band, but I'm beginning I either have to ditch the D standard tuning deal and move up a fourth (G standard). Lately a lot of songwriting has been done GDA strings (or in this case FCG) and in terms of response the D really isn't good for much now other than breakdowns or heavier material.

I know a place right now that has a 5er I'm looking into (Ibanez by the way...appears to be a jazz bass style), but I'm way too strapped for cash right now.
Right now I'm currently playing Ernie Ball Power Slinkies (.110-.55). If I were to ditch the low D and wanted something comparably comfortable (comparable as in to the ADG strings tuned a step down) and I could get my high C (Bb) string what would be recommendable?
