Hello - New poster looking for help

Hello,

New poster (n00b).


I happened across a Fretless Fender bg-29 Acoustic bass and I need to get new strings for it.. My local music store does not carry Short-scale flatwounds for acoustic basses....

Is there such a thing as "acoustic bass strings" or can I just use some short scale electric strings... If I don't want to go for flatwounds, what other options are there?

Yes, they do make strings for acoustic bass guitars.

Between these two sites, you should find pretty much anything that's availabe as far as strings.

I've got one of these basses and I use the standard length TI acoustic bass strings, just trim of the excess, seems to be okay for me

They seem to last a while too
