help finding strings for my 6 string fretless string through body bass...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi TB people... This is my first time writing here, and sure hope you guys could help me out a bit.

I own a custom 6 string fretless bass with a string through body design, and though it is 34" scale the overall length from the ball end to the nut is 38" and a half.

Now I am trying to find a 6 string flatwound set for it...
Which is, of course, very difficult...

The bass is currently fitted with nickel roundwound strings that are wayyy to twangy for it.

Please help me if you know of such a set.

Thanks but it isn't what I asked for...

The only Smith set which is 40" is a SS rockmaster.
(all others are 37" or 38", and as I said my ball end to nut is 38" and a half)
I'm looking for a 39"-40" 6 string flatwound set...

I know it is a damn difficult set to find... (if one exist that is)

Does it have to be strung through the body? Or is it one of those bridges where you can choose between regular and through?

Strings!!

Hi,get some made by newtonestrings.com
they are based in the UK and are very helpful if you have this type of problem, they are making some for me right now because of the string length/fitting on my headless bass, they may be away this week(i think)but drop them a email and explain the situation, let me know how you get on,have a look at the web site they run, good luck,J.

It's gotta be strung through the body... as shown.
And Thanks a bunch...
I'll check the Newtone strings as well, though I fear for my wealth when dealing with custom strings...
(now that I think of it... a 60 or 70$ Thomastik or La Bella sets aren't that cheap either).
