Help i.d. strings

Hi everyone,

This is my first post, I have a mystery I'm trying to solve.
I bought a used Fender Jazz bass last year that came with the perfect roundwound strings (for me). The guy who sold it to me told me they were Fender strings. Here's a brief description: they have no silk on the ends, just metal (steel/nickel?), and they thread down thinner about an inch after the nut (the bass is strung through body). The biggest possible hint is that the ball end of the string is black (or a very dark color). I don't think they are Fender strings. Anyone have a clue what brand/type these are? I want to be able to purchase more of these.

I've never seen Fenders without wrapping matching these colors:

Silver/Grey

Black

Yellow

(Red?) I'm really guessing here

But I don't think they make a string without silk.
I really wish I could help you but I'm clueless!

PS some advice, you are going to get many more responses with a picture thrown in to help us ID it.

I agree, all the Fender strings I know of have silk threads. My wife took the camera so I'll probably have to wait until the weekend for pix...

Cool.
I would discourage any posting of string stuff in Basses, and likewise bass stuff in Strings, because it sort of clutters the forum up.

Get those pix up asap
