Help Identifying Electric Bass Strings

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently picked up a used bass from GC. It's an 04 Mex J-bass with EMG JV and BQS preamp system. .... It's very sweet sounding for the price. ..... It came with a new set of bass strings that I quite like and thought I'd ask to see if anyone knows what make they are.
The only makings I can find to ID them is that they have different colored ball ends attached to the string at the bridge. The E-string is brass, the A-string is Red, the D-string is silver and the G-string is turq. green. .....
If anyone can help, thanks.

Sounds like D'Addarios.

Either D'addario XL's, or a set of Fenders new strings (which incidentally, are now made by D'addario.)

If they are Fenders, there's one slight catch-since they don't use silk wraps on their roundwounds anymore, it would be hard to tell by looking at them what they are-pure nickel, NPS, or stainless.

I've got a set of D'addarios right in front of me and the D string ball is black.
