Help Identifying Fender Strings

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys/gals,

I have a 2007 American Fender P Bass Deluxe that I got about a year ago, and today one of the strings snapped on me. I really liked the strings that were on there before, and I need some help figuring out what type of strings they were. They had some grey felt winding on the part that goes on the tuning machine, and the little rings that go in the bridge were different colors. I'm guessing they were fender strings, does this sound familiar to anyone? Also, does anyone know what the standard gauges are? Oh, also if I remember correctly, the E string was taperwound near the bridge. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Maybe it was the 8250s? The E-string is taperwound.

FYI, Musician's Friend has the 8250s for $15.99 right now. They seem to have good prices on Fender strings at the moment. I promise I'm not affiliated with either MF or Just Strings.
