Help identifying strings

Sign in to disble this ad
i bought a spector 5 used from GC and i LOVED the strings on them.

problem is i dont know what they were so heres some identifiers:

-Black thread
- very smooth feeling on the fingers, not rough like my DR hi beams. theyre not flatwound bt almost like a nice compromise between flat and round
-mellow deep tone . not super bright
regular metal ball ends

hope this helps and SOMEONE knows what they are..i want them on my new jazz

Have you played the ones with black silks? They're much nicer than normal Fender strings...

Eh, I don't know what the set number is, they just came on my Roscoe Beck stock, and I loved them.

Could be GHS Pressurewounds. They are compressed roundwounds which feel very smooth, almost close to a flatwound feel but closer to a roundwound sound, and they have black silks on them.

you my sir may have hit the nail on the head

i just didnt think they felt like fender because those strings mentioned are the ones that come stock on ever fender from the factory and i know they dont feel like the strings i had..what you have described is EXACTLY what i feel when i play
