Help me ID what DR string is on my P bass

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Hot Rod USA Pbass that I bought from a local a while back. He said the strings were DR's, "the one's with the motorcycle on the front". Now that would be low riders, I understand. I really like the way it plays with these and I want to keep the same ones on it. Low Riders come iboth Nickel and SS. I believe they are the nickel ones, any way to be sure of that?

Check the strings side by side with some you know are SS or nickle. Nickle is usually more shiny and silver looking. Also when you pull these strings and check the core wire. Low riders have a hex core. If it has a round core then it's either hi beams or sunbeams. The sunbeams are just the nickle version of the hi beams. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I will check the cores to be sure they are low riders. The strings are a little old now, hard to see a difference between nickel and SS in old strings for me. I'll bet they are nickels from the smoother feel though.
