HELP ME! What happened to Trace Elliot Strings

Sign in to disble this ad
Back in the day, Trace Elliot used to make the most killer contact core stainless strings. They always had incredible punch, and made my bass sound great.

Now I cant seem to find them anymore.

Does anybody know what happened to them and where they might be located these days, or who manufactured them for Trace?

I haven't thought about them in years.... I used to use them as well. When I switched to DR's many years ago I just forgot about them. What did happen to trace strings?

I'm kicking myself for not buying the last 10 pack i saw on Ebay. They were the right guage and everything. This was years ago.

Maybe (gasp) Peavey can convince them to re-birth the strings.

Kaman music corp was probably the US distributor of those strings, you could get in touch with them and see if they have any info. I see they are now marketing "Dunlop" strings, whatever those are.

Finding out if they were US or UK made would be a step in understanding who OEMed them. I seem to remember Elites emerging about the time Trace went belly-up, maybe there is a connection there ...
