Help needed in identifying strings

Hi guys,

I'm trying to work out what strings came with my bass when I bought it used. They're roundwounds and don't have any silk wrap. The ball-ends are coloured as follows:

G=green
D=black
A=red
E=gold brass

I seem to remember that D'Addarios had similar colouring when I had a set about 14 years ago, but I'm not sure. Anyone know what they could be?

Do the colours give any indication of the gauge? I just strung my bass with a set of Ernie Ball 45-100 flats but these seem lighter than the rounds I just took off (and brighter

but perhaps that has more to do with the fact that they are new).

And to my knowledges; no the colors dont show the gauge, just the stringnumber.

Thanks for the help. Can you tell if they are steel or nickel from the colours on the ball ends?
