 Help! Problem With Labella supersteps strings

I just bought a set of labella supersteps (taper core)29-43-62-85-102-128 for my yamaha trb6II and I love the feel and sound but past the 12th fret
they have wierd overtones coming off of them sorta like and out of tune chorus or flange. Is there any fixes and what is the reasoning behind this?
