hey guys i was wondering if you could help me out.

hey guys a just got my aerodyne jazz bass and the string gauge is 45 65 80 100..........i was just wondering if it would be ok for me to use light gauges on it? the 40 60 80 100? would it do anything to the bass? will it affect the neck in any way? please let me know asap thanks !

Dropping the gauge almost always drops the tension, which will then have the truss rod pull the neck flatter.

This may or may not be objectionable. If it's a problem then the truss rod adjustment is pretty easy.
