Over the years my right hand along with my attack has gotten stronger and can't play anything under mediums anymore without alot of clack. I'm looking for some high tension flats for my 5 string jazz. Any suggestions? I've heard fender flats are pretty high tension, any other brands out there.

| | | | I have only used the heavy tension Roto 77 for 4 string, but they are indeed very heavy tension. For the 5, they use regular tension, but due to your bass's scale, it will probably be VERY tight and nice. The B should be tonal bliss.
They should be among the stiffest of all strings, even the 5 string set. Most importantly of all, they sound great, and feel great on both hands. |
