Can someone point me in the right direction? I gotta buy some a new set of strings for my esp b-55 soon. I normally get D'addario Nickels and I was going to go for a set of mediums, but are there any other brands out there with more tension, specifically the low B?

I probably didn't help much, but there ya go. Ya git what ya pay fer.

Beleive they can be ordered in various guages, but not tapered.

D'addario makes a 0.145" diamater B if you are looking for tension. You need to buy singles at a place like Just Strings. |

I think .135 is the max on my bass without heavy buying a new bridge/nut.
