Hofner Ignition String Lengths

Hi there,

Been searching around the internet for a few days trying to find out some info about which strings to use on my new Ignition, and I think I've settled on the Rotosound 88s.

Thing is that I dunnno which length to get. Some people say get short scale, some medium, and sometimes it depends on which strings you're getting.

I'd love some La Bella Beatles ones but they're not available here in the UK until at least end of Februaury, and Pyramids are the same story, so I'm going to try the Rotosounds for now. Any info you can give me about the string selection - and the lengths in particular - would be great.

I'd guess medium since my Labella and D'Addario silk wrap on those shorts don't quite clear the nut on mine.

Right now I'm using Labella Beatle Bass tapes on my Icon Club and Labella Beatle Bass flats on my Ignition violin.

Edit: I ordered my Labella Beatle Bass strings from JustStrings.com - not sure if they ship to the UK.

Yeah they'll probably ship to the UK but I don't have a clue whether I'll be responsible for import duty or anything like that. I can get the normal La Bella Deep Talkin' ones from Thomann too, if all else fails.

But cheers for that - I couldn't quite find the information on the internet anywhere regarding string sizes and whatnot.

medium. it's a short scale, but since there's a couple inches between the bridge and the tailpiece, you need the extra string length.
