Hofner Strings

I went to my local music store to buy a set of Labella's for my new X-mas Hofner Icon..... They were out, but they told me that next week they had a few sets of Hofner strings coming in.
Has anyone tried these?

I have only ever used TI Jazz Flats on my Hofner and never had a reason to try anything else.

I have Hofner strings on my Hofner Ignition, and they are OK with the bass they have been born for.

If you want to listen for the bass and strings:

I've got an Icon on its way to me and intend to use the LaBella Hofner set.

Be care there are 2 gauges of Labella Beatle Bass strings: 39-96 (the set recently used by Paul McCartney) and 50-100.

I generally do prefer the larger gauges, if they exist, and their fatter sound... on some post i read the lighter Labella gauge has a too thin sound.
Moreover consider the Labellas are made of stainless steel (==> thinner sound) while Hofners are nickel made (==> warmer).
Here is a famous clip with McCartney teaching a song and his bass is strung with the light gauge Labellas: not sure a dark sound, even if i think maybe Macca changes a set for each occasion, and so he has ever the typical new strings metallic sound.

Great video, thanks. Looks like he's got the action set up really low too.

So juststrings.com has two guage options for the LaBella Hofner flats, the lighter 39-96 and the 50-100 set. I'm inclined to try the later at this point, just for that .050 G string.
