Will you be having a booth there? Planning to sell to resellers now? If so we should make an appointment.
Edit... See your booth number in the directory. |

I am not so sure I would like a Balanced set of Chromes though. A few years ago I had a Stingray 5 and found that the 50-105 set with a .130 B string sounded more consistent than the standard 5 string set. The .130 B on that bass was pretty thumpy sounding and the heavier E-G strings matched better. |

Anyone try the D'addario ECB81 or 82 which are flatwounds? I've got a Spector Fretless calling for that tone. | I've not tried them on my fretless, but they sure brought out the best in my CV Jazz, feel and sound great on my MIM Jazz as well. I'm hooked.

Speaking of balanced tension. I havent researched enough probably but I would like to try to build or find a set of balanced flats. I wish GHS made a balanced set. I love the P flats. But on occasion I find my E to be dull. Im thinking a better balanced E would help. Ive grown more and more into a string hound. Maybe I need to get some Chromes next time around. | Check the slot in the nut- it may fit a different gauge better than the new string. If it's a bit too wide, it usually sounds dull. |

I did back up my purchase with a second, lighter, Balanced set. I would like to keep these on the P. If I can handle this tension I will use the lighter set on my Hannewinkle Jazz. |

Back on topic, I agree! I'm a D'Addario fanboy for life. I have D'Addario Tapewounds on my 5er and I will be ordering a set for my Ibanez AEB5E acoustic in the future.
I've used XL Nickels, Chromes and Tapewounds and I am completely sold on D'Addario. Balanced-tension XLs are on my wish list! | You're gonna love the Tapewounds on your acoustic bass. I have an Ibanez AEB5E as well and I also use these strings on it. They give it a thumpy upright-like tone when you play unplugged and near the soundhole.
Plus, if you play it with a pick on an amp with the treble all the way down and the bass all the way up, you can almost get a Hofner-like sound.

| | | | I just got my first set of Chromes delivered today, and this is my first order from bassstringsonline.com. I was very satisfied with the service, and quick turnaround/delivery. While I now read about the possibility of getting singles, for a balanced set, I'm glad with what I ordered. I'm sure buying singles would raise the price for the set, and honestly, I primarily wanted to get away from the .045 G and the .065 D. Those things were SO much tighter than the remaining three strings, it was ridiculous. So, I ordered the 40-60-80-100 4-string set, and added the 132 low-B.
I got them installed (with just a little "work" needed to the silk to get the 130 B through the bridge on my ESP LTD D-5-- these strings are not long enough, and are too stiff to string through the body), finished my setup, and found that I'm able to get a MUCH lower action than I could with the Ernie Ball rounds (they were a 45-65-80-100-130 set). I haven't had a lot of play time yet, but like what I hear so far, and LOVE how they feel!
