Gauge that is...
I have been hunting for some better strings for my Lakland 55-94, and just wondering what you guys prefer in the gauge of your B. A light gauge or heavy gauge? Why?
I have been using the Lakland brand and just wondering if a lighter gauge B will feel and sound more balanced with a medium gauge set. I even thought of trying a medium gauge 4 string set and buying a single 120 B
I just ordered a Fodera set with a unique gauge.
.44 .62 .85 .106 .125
Do you Fodera guy's like this set or put them on anything else? |

for 34 scalers like me its most likely better to use a 130 or even 135 |

a)WHAT KIND OF BASS YOU USE(IF YOUR AXE HAS "BALLSY" LOWS )I.M.H.O. YOU SHOULD USE LIGHTER GAUGE B-STRING TO AVOID GETTING A MUDDY SOUND
b)WHAT KIND OF AMP - SPEAKERS YOU USE AND CAN YOUR SET UP GO REALY LOOOOW....AND IF SO HOW EFFICIENTLY...
c)THE PARTICULAR STRINGS USED EACH TIME DO THEY BRING OUT THE MOST OF YOUR BASS'S SOUND( BRANDS SOUND DIFFERENTLY AND THAT IS THE POINT HAVE YOU FOUND "THE" BRAND THAT SUITS YOU AND YOUR AXE?
PERSONALLY SPEAKING...I USE 120 GAUGE B-STRING FOR MY GIBSONS (THUNDERBIRD IV , RD STD)BOTH TUNED BEAD IF THAT IS OF ANY HELP... |
