How to Keep my Rotos Fresh.

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm wondering what the best way to retain that "brand-new-string-sound" would be. I really want to keep them live as long as possible. They're rotosound 66's. I am already wiping them with a dry cloth after every time I play. Is there anything else I can do to maintain their clank?

I've done this and it works well.

The Bass String Cleaning Tube

You put the strings in after four months of playing or when you feel they could use a cleaning.

There are other options available that take less than a minute.

That sounds a lot of work...

I just hit the 'Bright' button on my amp once they die and then replace them the next time we have a gig.

Denatured alcohol. AKA string tube. I make them and give them to bass players for Christmas.

Ive made the string cleaning tube and it works great. It wasnt alot of work really and I rotate in several pairs of strings and they sound new again. The BassBrites look interesting though.
