Before they tarnish? I've never had a set tarnish on me yet, and I've been playing nickel/NPS strings for almost 9 years now.

My D'addario EXL170's have been going strong for 7 months now, with no sign of tarnish, corrosion, or discoloration. And I never wipe down my strings after playing. But then I live in the desert with very little humidity for much of the year.
