How long do tapewound strings last with frets

Sign in to disble this ad
I have used the roto tapewound strings on my fretless before and remember loving the tone and feel. I'm thinking about trying some tapewounds on a fretted bass now. I know they last forever one a fretless, but how long do they last with frets mashing into them? Thanks in advance for all help.

Almost forever.

Seriously, under regular conditions and playing, they can last years and years.

I run LaBella Deep Talking Bass on my Carvin AC50, and my Michael Kelly acoustic.
I'm a little different, but I change the strings 1 per year if i'm not playing out much, if I'm in a weekend band 2 per year

I figuerd the frets would tear through the nylon wrap faster then that but if it doesn't then cool
