Hah! I forgot where it was, but I saw that exact same picture and thought "I should tell that guy that his bass is strung incorrectly", but decided to avoid any possible wrath. Same frickin' sale...is that here on TB classifieds?

Ouch. I hope that nut can take that kind of awkward tension on the G side!

What do you think the holes in the tuning post are for?

wait... what? dont people look at things before they rip them apart? maybe, he was soooo excited that he got new strings, that he pulled them off with such joy and rapture as not to look at how to put them back on well because he just bought them new fangeld strings and they hafta go on there

The first few times I ever restrung a bass I went straight into it like that. not thinking about it or anything.

After 2 or 3 goes I got the hang of it, and now I get payed to set up other peoples instruments for them...


The difference being I started on a £60 Westfield POS, not a £1200 SR5

isnt that how guitars are strung?
i know its wrong for basses but why does it work for guitars and not basses? Tensions?

Exactly! i hate when people dont use those. All that pointy mess on the head stock is just gross!

The tuners are designed differently.
