I am so embarassed

Got a call for a sub job a few weeks back (classic rock covers) on short notice. A 4 string was requested instead of my usual 5 and 6's. I didnt think the flats would work so slapped on Fender rounds which I had laying around and went to the gig. Not my usual strings but also up for a change.

Played the first set and the strings sounded awful. The low E wouldn't stay in tune and the E and A sounded mismatched volume-wise. Three tunes in, I swapped out for a 5 string back-up and played on happily. Fender went back in the bag. Made a mental note to get new strings (wanted to try RotoSounds again anfter a long hiatus.).

Took the Jazz out of the bag this morning and noticed the A string seemed thicker than the E string. Yep, I had swapped strings when I put em on.

Never done that before. How embarassing.

haha, nice one dude.
Don't worry about it, at least you had your back-up.
Things could've been a heap worse.

Yeah, that's why I usually change 1 string at a time. I've done that when I played guitar so I adopted that way of changing strings and haven't screwed up since.
