i was practicing with my band to day and during one of the songs i was really digging the mellow sound of my low b string and was playing the entire line on it. somehow i managed to break it. i was back to a 4 string and my drummer was infinitely impressed. time for a new set.

I find I tend to break my E most often. I think it's a combination of rest strokes coming off of the A string and slapping the E. I break my E every... three months, I'd say. I'm working on a lighter right hand touch, but old habits die hard.

Hah, nicely done, FFF. Gotta love when a bassist breaks one of the fat strings, everybody's jaws drop.

I played a gig where I snapped the low B, the A, and the D all in one set. I'm hoping that was all my bad luck thrown into one night and I'll have many years of snap-free playing ahead of me.

You are a friggin' animal!

I have never broken a B string. Lots of E and A strings, but never a B.

Come to think of it, I haven't broken a single string in over a year.
