Try coloring the ball ends with a marker. "canadian Bacon" is ham in canada so brussle sprouts? i dunno. there's probabally a tber from there abouts.
But i've been a big fan of the D'addario chromes... i'm trying the half rounds now. needed a little more bite for rock.

I've got a set on my Carvin LB75 that I've had on for 7 months, and they still sound like they're a couple days old. |

Not on my Fenders though (in this case somewhat lifeless) |

They have given me MY sound on nearly every bass I've ever owned since. The only one that I haven't used the D's on is the first Fairlane I built that got a set of Thomastik Jazz Flats when it was new. That was a good choice for that bass. For everything else, it's been D'Addario's |

The only strings that I enjoyed as much as XL's were the Fender Solid Nickels (9120's I believe). They sounded the same and were cheaper, but died a little quicker. I couldn't find them locally any more so I made the switch to XL's.
Probably put Chromes on the old Kramer before to long. |

They're Prisms +1.

Then I got hooked on Blue Steel, but the GCs out here don't keep them in stock regularly. Shoot me in the head with a Bazooka!
I heard that Elixir came out with strings that are only partially coated. It’s supposed to make it brighter. Anyone tried them yet?? |

They're Prisms +1. | Yep, I love the Prosteels, but I like LaBella Hard Rockin' Steels more! They've always given the tone I need, but I'm playing XL's on my P-bass right now. Was going for something more mellow than I'm used to, but not quite flats.
