I just got a USA Peavey Millenium in last week and played it at a gig this weekend. I really love the sound and feel of the bass, but I had to get some new strings for it. I went to the local guitar shop, cuz I needed strings quickly. He usually doesn't sell the brands that I prefer to use, but like I said, a new set had to be put on today before band rehearsal tonight. I saw that he had started carrying Dunlop strings, so I asked about them. He said he really didn't know much about them (he's a guitar player) and people had been asking him about the sound they made all day. He threw me a set and said, try them and let me know what you think, they are free!

I couldn't believe it! I put them on my bass and played them for a while and I really like them so far. Great tension! They also sounded great! good highs, lows, and mids. They sounded better than the SIT's he usually sells too. I'm going to try them out at band rehearsal tonight. I may have found my new brand of strings though!

Anyone else besides Trujillo rockin dunlop strings?

i have a set of those on my Fender P right now. My guy at GC likes em and talked me into trying a set. I'm still adjsting the action on this bass but they don't sound too bad. But they started to sound dead pretty quickly, for the limited amount of time I use this bass. i don't take it to gigs because i'm getting ready to mod it and it does not have strap buttons. My DR's on my gigging basses lasted much longer with more play time.

So, not a bad string if you need a set quick and cheap, but don't stay new sounding long enough for me.

Welcome to the club, These are great strings, and like all strings after playing them you should wipe them off to maintain freshness. I went to winter namm and they gave me "10" packs of strings for my 4's and 5 string basses, also i went to bass player live and they gave me "4" packs of strings, a very cool company. If you can go to these type of events you can make out like a "fat rat" in a cheese factory.
