lo-riders are great. last long, great tension/stiffness and they don't chew up my fingers like the d'addario's did. i don't need any other strings. never tried elixirs though.

I dislike DRs (lo-riders at least) because they die so fast. I had mine about 3-4 days before they completely died. Sure they're inexpensive, but my Elixirs lasted months. Maybe I'll try D'addarios EX next -- they have the nanoweb that the Elixir does for long string life, the nanoweb coating doesn't flake off, and they're less expensive to boot.

i got a set of rotosound swingbass 66ld's today, 45-105 even though i prefer 50-105 but it was at phil kubickis advice to use 45-105 due to the headless-ness, but the E string is only just long enough for the kubicki and they sound quite good, bit rough on the fingers though, but next time im going to order in RS66EL's, which are extra longs, i shold ask them to make me a custom kubicki set , but im either gonna do that or try dean markley blue steels..i was gonna buy lo-riders today but at $100 i dont think so, the rotosounds were only $50...but i got no idea how long these rotosounds are gonna last, i used to use dean markley bass blasters on my atk and they rocked

if i cant get elixir polyweb im getting dr high beams.

the ones that came on your bass, may have been polyweb, so you should check out nanoweb, same feel as an uncoated string.

if you play pic, the coating comes off faster on the nanoweb then the poly.
