I have found my strings. Pure Nickel Baby!

Fender pure nickel 7150ML. I used them for a while, a few years back when I was working at GC, on a couple of my basses and liked them.

Then I got curious and experimented with other sets, Fender flats, Slinkys, Laklands flats, various kinds of rotosounds, dadarrio, etc. All of them more expensive than the Fenders. All of the rounds I tried felt to "zingy" and bright, whereas I prefer a warm round tone. The only strings that seemed equivelant were Rotosound Pure nickel Strings.

Fineally, after ignoring it for a while I pick up my last bass with the 7150's on them and wow! Still my favorite string set for 4 string bass. I like them so much, I'm special ordering a bunch of sets since GC doesn't carry them anymore.

Anyone else use Pure Nickel (almost) exclusively?

I loved the Fender 7150 Pure Nickel Roundwounds but all the shops in my area quit stocking them. For rounds I have been using the D'addario XL rounds ( love them ) but I sure do miss the 1750 ! With all the talk about them around here I think I will have to order a couple sets online. Thanks...Dave
