But also (On the D string, Not the E) To drop C. Is that weird? I've never heard / seen any other bassists who do that. I know the notes on them and I love how to sounds on my Fender Jazz, really brings out the low's on the D string well. Anybody else do the same? |

Now I listen to Paramore alot and it doesn't sound like he's using drop C to me, except on maybe Monster (new song, it's on the Transformers 3 soundtrack). I've also seen Paramore songs tabbed out for this tuning. Never tried it though. |

Tuning all four down produces the DGCF tuning. This can be useful for some metal styles. Any other odd tuning may have advantages. The disadvantage may be the different tension from string to string.

Paul gray from slipknot tuned to drop B, which is bead. Fieldy from korn to drop A, Adgce, which is equivalent to drop D because he uses a heavy B 5string.
Me personally drop B. That's why I bought a fiver.

Drop A is AEAD.

Drop A is AEAD. | If you play 7th fret on a E-tuned string what note do you get?
If you play 5th fret on a B-tuned string what note do you get?

Otherwise drop B would be B-F#-B-E. The important thing to remember is that drop tunings ALWAYS drop ONLY the lowest string.
Just FYI, Slipknot varies between drop A and drop B, and Snuff is written in C# standard i believe (the acoustic guitar).

Pauls regular tuning was always BEAD. On the all hope is gone album it was ADGE. but I do remember stuff and vermillion part 2 was regular EADG, or he just didn't use B for acoustic parts.
