i need serious help

im looking for a set of 6 string flatwounds. could be a 5 string set but i need a high c string (.32-.35). the only set i can find is like $70 and seing as how its going on an sx it doesnt make sense to have the strongs cost half the price of the bass.

any one?

Well, you could go to www.juststrings.com and buy a set of D'Addario Chromes 5-string flats for $38.09, and also order a single D'Addario Chromes .032 for $5.66. Including shipping, that would be around $50. They also sell the Rotosound RS776LD set for $49.95 plus shipping. I think these are regular long-scale sets.

The $70 strings can make your $150 bass sound like a million bucks. It might be worth it to drop more money on your strings.

This isn't the best comparison in the world, but I know a few people that spent more money for their violin bow than they did for their violin because it made the instrument sound and play that much better.

Maybe to practice with on a fretless... but it pretty much defets the sound of a fretless bass putting flat wounds on it...
