I searched the forum a bit to find another thread, so if this is a repost, I apologize.
I play metal / Rock I have no idea which strings I should buy. I read a little bit on Rotosounds swing bass 66. I have only been playing for about 9 months, and dont know to much about strings. I have a cheap epiphone bass right now. Any tips would be much appreciated. |

Also DR sunbeams seem pretty slick too. |

However, some of the thinner wristed bassists about complain about the string tension and that the Rotos are rough. I personally haven't had a problem with either of those complaints but if anything it built up my callouses.

Nowadays I use Warwick Black Label and I believe they sound really good for rock too.

These are my fav's. My main gig is a hard rock band. I sit in w/ a blues band also.

| | | | Rotosounds are pretty good for the old-skool clanky metal sound. They go dead fairly quickly though, and once they're gone, it's not that nice. I've recently been using Ernie Ball Power rounds, which I like - good n growly, bit more emphasis on the fundamental note. Just ordered a set of DR Lo-Riders to try out though - been hearing good things about them.
