I really need some help

I just bought a new Dean Demonator green/black model guitar. I cannot decide what kind of strings to put on it. It has a pair of Barts in it, and I play through a Ampeg 4Pro. I pretty much like the tone of Peter Steele, and David J from Bauhaus. Any help would be awesome, also the guitar has a Brass nut if that makes any difference.
