Ibanez Acoustic Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
I have been playing the Ibanez acoustic bass, for some time. I just put flat wound strings on it. The orginals were way to loud while playing. Wow it really mellowed the sound of the instrument. I was told not to use these on this style guitar. It does sounds deeper and more funky when needed to be.
Please any feedback or comment.

Yeah you just lost the little bit of unplugged volume you had though. If you always use it plugged in then don't worry about it.

Is there a better setup to use with this guitar?
I like the smoothness of flats, and none of the friction sound.

I've thought about doing that on mine. Any volume I may lose will force me to aquire a pignose for those porch sessions.

Until the extra tension pulls the bridge off top.
