Ibanez SRX users...

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an Ibanez SRX 505 and it's time to change those elixirs cause i have them for two years...

Since it would be my first change,i have no experience in other strings brands but i wanted to try something else(and cheaper if possible). The elixirs worked
well for me,except they were a little trebly for my taste.Very nice mids and full bottom.

You srx owners, can you suggest some other strings that worked well for you?Share your experiences please...

I play an srx500. I really didnt like the elixirs. I tried DR lo riders and liked them better. Then I tried rotosounds and I doubt if I will ever want to try another string. They sound perfect and play great.

The Elixers were the only string I have actually really really disliked. I replaced them almost immediately with Rotosounds I believe. Much more to my liking.

Just bought an Srx505 and I am not sure If I really like the Elixers either. The Rotosounds make a difference I hear. I bought my Srx just a lil over a month ago.

I second the DR Lo-Riders on that bass as they seem to bring out more of the natural sound. Don't completely diss the Elixirs, you have to remember those are stock strings, played by who know how many people before you got them. Likely they are tired and not in the best of shape to begin with. Fresh strings always make a bass sound better.

i liked the feel of the elixirs that came on my SRX700, but they wore out too soon (the coating shredded off right over the pickups). but i play with a pick, and tend to play pretty hard, so it's understandable.

for my money, SIT PowerSteels are my favorite strings. pretty reasonably priced (through juststrings.com) and they seem to last quite a while, at least for me.
